The Start of Snack Dragon
The Black and White cookie, found plastic-wrapped in every mart in New York City, remains elusive in California. Yes, you can find versions of them near the checkstand at higher end grocers, or in some traditional delis, but generally they are a niche cookie. When I tell someone that my favorite cookie is the Black and White, I usually get a blank look, as if that might be a cookie that they have encountered in the past.
So my quest began to create an NYC-style Black and White cookie - one with a sturdy yet cakey base, and a sweet icing that cracks before mixing with the soft cookie. While some might not consider this a cookie, it is my favorite.
Acknowledging that others have favorites as well, the offerings at Snack Dragon reflect the simple, straight forward goodness of a home-baked treat made with care and quality ingredients. There’s nothing too fancy or complicated, but plenty to get excited about and remember. At Snack Dragon we want to share with others. Come snack with us.
